First of all, I just want you to know that I hate thieves!
Everyday I see lots of residents wearing stolen products, I see stores selling stolen content (I always report stolen content) – but I can’t handle all of them. Well..today I’ve seen too much!
Somebody recommended me to check out Lara Skin and I stumbled out a place in search that looked very suspicious, called Lara Skins (on a sim called Lara). I tped there and I started to check the place. I was looking for Lara’s skins, but I haven’t found any, just some ugly pics. I got the free skin and I tried it. I noticed the big seams on arms and then I checked the creator’s name: Lara Lefko. I noticed that I have a notecard in the folder and i started to read:

An award winning shape creator and skin maker! Yea right – her account is new and she is already famous. How can you lie to customers like that?
I checked every picture in the store, and on a wall I’ve seen a picture with a nice skin. It was only 300l$ so I said: go ahead buy it! I was thinking its stolen so I had to spend some money to check out the skin. When my skin was fully rezzed i just couldnt believe my eyes. I was wearring a skin with upper & lower body Laqroki modified textures (and a face that I couldn’t recognize). I took some snapshots, threw them into a notecard (with a lm too) and I sent it to Winter DiPrima (one of the creators of Laqroki). Next day, I checked the place again and the skin was still there.
I found the real Lara Skin store, I noticed the original creator via notecard and I also joined the original -Lara Skin-group. I found out that Lara Zong (Lara Lefko’s alt i guess) created a Lara Skin group, and the tag looks the same like the original -Lara Skin-group. Not nice.
So, dear thieves, you have to know that people talk. You have no respect at all (not even in RL), GOT IT , but keep it for you, stop stealing content. WE don’t care if you like to be hated, just leave us alone.
Please do not support, and always report content theft. Your support is essential for the survival of second life as a creative community.

I saw the fake store too… months ago! and i spoke to Lara Hurley about it and she said she knew about it cause other people told her but well what can she do… so i reported that other “lara” but it was a diff name that i dont remember… so this someone keeps coming back i guess.

LOL and first of all – what you are doing here is trying rather unsuccessfully to mislead everyone into believing that Lara Lefko of Lara Skin & Lara Shapes is a FAKE and a thief when you know full well that neither of this is true. YOU are in fact the fraudulent one here. First of all you have doctored the pictures to look like the Lara Lefko skin belongs to another content creator. How evil you are. This kind of bullying is what ruins Second Life for the rest of us.
We all know the story so you needn’t try to trick us all into believing your lies. Lara Hurley is very angry that there are other Lara’s that have set up skin businesses in Second Life and want to call themselves Lara. Lara Hurley is behind this dirty tricks campaign and we all know it. She has already been shooting her mouth off to anyone that will listen about this blog campaign to bring down Lara Skin & Lara Shapes. Letov (believed to be one of her many alts) has been shooting her mouth off to customers that the other Lara’s are evil and content thieves and soon the blogs will bring them down – that we should all wait and see. So I guess this is it. Slander and bullying. You should all be ashamed. I personally left Lara Hurley’s group because of this kind of behaviour. She always pulls these kinds of stunts and it is about time someone stood up to her. She is a greedy person with a very evil streak in her. THIS dirty journalism (if it can be called that) is just her style. She does not even respect her customers. And just look at her super size ban list – that should also tell you about her. Anyway, I sincerely suspect that it is Lara that own this blog but she is behind it.
I would love to say ‘get a life’ but it would be fruitless because this is your Second Life and you are being just as nasty in this one as you probably are in your first life. So instead of saying ‘get a life’ I say GET AN EDUCATION and understand this very clearly: Lara Hurley does NOT have a monopoly to the name Lara and she does not have a monopoly to the name Lara Skin either. What you are doing here is intimidation and bullying and it is a great injustice to cause to someone. You should be ashamed at what you are trying to pull off here – its plain evil and it says something very ugly about the content of your character.
I am going to report this matter to Linden Lab and I have taken a copy of this page to fax to them so that they see what you are up to. I am also contacting the other Lara’s so they are aware of your campaign. STOP THIS BULLYING NOW.
Odos Kidd, the issue isn’t only about the Lara v Lara thing…it’s also about Lara Lekfo’s skins looking very similar to Laq’s skins.
P.S. I am sure LL will put your fax on their number one priority list as soon as it comes through..
I really think Odos Kidd missed the whole point of the blog. The original Lara skins was barely mentioned and if the skin above isn’t stolen and the huge similarities to Laq are merely coincidence then what does the other Lara Skins & Shapes have to worry about?

I did not miss the point of this blog. The blog you are commenting on is a witch-hunt orchestrated by Lara Hurley AGAINST Lara Lefko. Lara Hurley and her many alts have been griefing Lara Lefko and threatening to take this action. Why else would you be using doctored material claiming that it belongs to Lara Lefko and YOU (the author) have even hidden the name of the creator – you blacked it out so I guess you are trying to make out that LAQ is the original creator. How stupid do you think we all are?
I went and tried on the Summer skin that you are claiming belongs to LAQ. There is no evidence as far as I can see that the Summer skin belongs to LAQ. And yes you have the face correct but the body on your illustration of Lefko’s Summer skin is not even the same skin – it looks like you have copied the LAQ body and pasted the Summer head onto it. Quite frankly, that Summer skin body does not even look THAT good and when I raised this with Lara Lefko she said and I quote:

So there you have it. Always speak to the source first before spreading lies. This is exactly what Lara Hurley wanted her customers to do on her behalf. Not content with being a bully herself she wants you all stained; safety in numbers when the unfortunate victim suffers. It’s a disgrace!

The use of Lara Skin is available for everyone and I can definitely see your point cos it would be a bad thing to do if she did not have any association with the name. But in this particular case Lefko does have the right. She owns the brand Lara Skin & Lara Shapes. And also Lara Zong is another Lara. She set up the Lara Skin group and not Lara Lefko. Lara Lefko joined later and took control of the group. Anyway she claims that she owns the right to the name Lara Skin. Lefko and Zong are definitely two different people cos anyone that has attended the promotional events in the Keswick store can see that.
On the issue of agreement, Lefko inherited the Lara Skin group from Zong and changed the business from Lara Skin to Lara Skin & Lara Shapes. She did not need to do that since according to Linden Lab, there can be many same names for businesses. On the issue of groups; Linden Lab allow people set up what they like so right now as it stands we can all set up a Lara Skin group. However, in the interest of fairness only those with the name Lara and running a Lara Skin group would it be decent or expected that they should use the name. So the fact remains that the two leads in this saga, Hurley & Lefko BOTH have the rights to the name Lara Skin. It should also be mentioned that Hurley’s group is Lara Skin Update Group and Lefko group is Lara Skin so this is really a no brainer for a debate.
As for LAQ skin, check thr Summer skin yourself. It is nothing like a LAQ skin as this blog suggests so this is a rubbish debate. Not even LAQ appear interested in challenging this issue so why in the hell are bitches up in here slamming an original content provider just because they can. It has cheapened this blog and shown it to be guttersnip journalism contributed by a bunch of airheads. You have only shown yourselves to be bullies and illiterates. Even the subject of your bullying in this case is not even scared off by you so why don’t you do us all the favour and quash this issue. It’s tiring.
Sylwia, I hopes this clarifies your own confusion cos both of these Lara’s are the real Lara’s – just as anyone else that just happens to operate with the name Lara Skin. Your comments are silenced by the law so if you have a problem with policy then you should take it up with Linden Lab’s policy makers cos right now your grumblings are just human emotion and fortunately in this case, human emotion is not the law.
Lara Skins from Lara Hurley , are well knowed for good quality in sl . It seems to me that these 2 dumb alts ( but very smart newbies , if they are able after so short time to make skins * sarkasm end) are not able to etablish their own name and work and attempt to make some fast money with the name and work of others . Lara Lefko, or Lara Zong whateva … why dont u try to etablish your own label and your own work ? I totaly agree with Sylwia Obolensky , it is just rude to use the name of one of the best skins creators in sl , to etablish your stuff ! i hope dmca and LL will *clear * this so soon as posible and yes, it is good that bloggers and all users are informed about such diletants. Sounds like someone needs to rebrand. I can completely get Lara Hurley’s issue with this new brand that oddly decided to take the name Lara Skins. But seeing how this other Lara person doesn’t seem to get they are giving their brand a bad name by copying a name I say move on an rebrand. Odos Kidd,u forgot something.I have the summer skin in my inventory.Lara Lefko is the creator of this skin with Laqroki textures on it. i can make print screens over and over again.This is the true.Or maybe you will say that i logged on Lara`s Lefko account and i uploaded Laq textures? Back to the stolen skin : I can allways prove that i have it in my inventory and its created by Lara Lefko.I can meet anybody in-world ,make a print screen ,and upload the picture in about 5 seconds.Now,maybe Lara Lefko has changed the upper and lower body textures .But i still have the original skin.

When I decided to open a store I not only checked my store name within the sl search but I also did a google search. Just because these two people have the same first sl name does not make it right. It’s comon decency to check. I’m usually very skeptical about stolen skin articles but this skin is very similar to LAQ.

Second Life doesn’t mean the rules of the real world should be infringed! It’s common sense that if someone use a name for his products, it can’t be used exactly the same by other person genuinely honest.
And if you don’t know, it exists a law that protects creations, even if they are in Second Life. The other Lara has stolen not only the name, but also the textures from Laqroki (that’s already proven, you can’t argue about that anymore) and I’m pretty sure a very good lawyer could make a very good case from this. Because this is intelecttual property (original design) robbery.
So please, stop defending a thief (only if you’re not just defending her, but you’re one of her alts).
First of all NO is the answer to Lara Lefko having anything to do with me. I just have no space for Lara Hurley since I believe she is a bully. I left the Hurley group and refused to sign up to the Update group. I noticed she has her group joiner in her store now that she wants us all to re-join. She previously stopped the open process and made her group inaccessible unless by invitation only. Then she re-opened the group to allow people in and ejected people she saw were members of rival groups. The bullying became apparent everytime I entered into discussion with her alts. This was what made me visit the other Lara. After being in her group for a while I witnessed the pissy behaviour of Lara’s alts joining the other Lara and then going into the open chat and publicly declaring they were leaving the group since this was not the real Lara Skins. When I asked the owner about it she told me that she had also been served with false DMCA papers to take down her original content. She took them down and got her lawyer involved. Within that time Hurley had admitted that Lefko did not have stolen skin and that she did not suspect her of being a copybotter but that she wanted her to change the name. Lefko inherited the name from Zong and changed that name from Lara Skin (on its own) to Lara Skin & Lara Shapes but apparently it is not enough for Hurley who wants what she is not entitled to. So, for me, it’s the bullying issue that does not sit well with me. The Lefko girl has retained her dignity throughout this and has not decided to retaliate by also filing false DMCA’s just to get Hurley to have to take down her own work. I have also been a recipient of product advice and in-world money-making opportunities as anyone in her group will know. So it’s a no brainer of who I will be supporting in this matter as well as who’s argument I will listen to. Unlike the rest of you though I listen to both sides, I investigated before making my decision. You lot are a bunch of incongrous bitches that bully people on these pages and don’t like to be challenged. Is it any wonder that Hurley, another bully found an audience with you. Yes I accept not alll of you are bullies but the evidence speaks for itself on those of you that are absolutely stuck on stupid. 1. You have no case. Lara Skin is available for anyone to take and if you are not happy – take the name and register it.
2. Linden Lab have allowed people set up groups with the same name so it stands to reason it is not against Terms of Service. Since it is not against Terms of Service – shut up already.

But Linden Lab have ruined that debate for you by not making what Zong and Lefko did against Terms of Service. If they had then maybe Zong and Lefko may not have done such a thing. So the issue on ethics is not even worthy of debate.
4. You said you have stolen skin in your inventory and you are prepared to meet anyone in-world to….what??!!?? How bored are you? If you have stolen skin in your inventory and see yourself as some kinda virtual–against-stolen-skin campaigner take your evidence to the owner of the skin and ask them to check the skin themselves. Or contact Linden Lab since they are allowing that skin to be purchased on Xstreet. Lefko already said it is a skin she has for sale in her gift-shop at Lara’s Lagoon. The skin is called Summer and she has not removed or tampered with it. So we can all check the evidence inclusing the owner of Laqroki – who btw, is probably wondering what the heck you are all bitching about since it is not their skin.
5. The issue of Traffic for Lara Skin – Lefko owns a group called Lara Skin. She can call her advertising Lara Skin – it is her traffic just like the other Lara has her own traffic. *rolls eyes

I do agree that this channel may be used for bullying and misleading because the blog owner may censur whatever it wants to (as any other blog or website) and choose to portrait things as it wants to. Though this far I’ve seen both positive and negative comments being approved and I think that’s good enough. Whomever writes a post and gets it published can also be critizied by its readers and this way we all can form our own opinions.
